Ofelia earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree and began her nursing career in 2006. Driven to expand her knowledge and skillset, she pursued further education at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science. In 2018, she successfully completed her studies and became a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP). Recognizing the growing need for mental health services, she decided to pursue a post-certificate program for Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), which she completed in 2020.
Professional Journey:
Throughout her career, Ofelia has gained valuable experience in various healthcare settings, with a focus on psychiatry, emergency medicine, and rehabilitation. From 2018 to 2021, she served as a Desert Parkway Behavioral Healthcare Hospital hospitalist, providing comprehensive care to patients with acute psychiatric needs. This experience deepened her understanding of mental health disorders and the importance of early intervention and personalized treatment.
Founding Nevada Psych Health, PLLC:
In 2021, Ofelia founded Nevada Psych Health, PLLC, a mental health practice dedicated to providing accessible and high-quality care to the community. She aims to create a safe and welcoming environment where individuals can receive holistic mental health services. At Nevada Psych Health, PLLC, they believe in a collaborative approach, working closely with patients and their support systems to develop personalized treatment plans that address their unique needs.
